help...at a recent class reunion (we won't go there) some wonderful old friend hugged me and spun me around while holding his rather full glass of red wine...I was wearing a new, pale aqua blue silk blouse which is probably my favorite)...He spilled the wine all down my back.
With my lady friends help, we tried to use salt on it and also someone said try salt and soda water. The plain salt worked best but was far from successful...It is now dry and I am ready to try again but am sacared to ruin it. more....I would love any wisdom...Thank you!!!!

Use 409 and rub into stain before washing. If stain still exists DO NOT dry. Repeat steps again. DO NOT use 409 on oil, it will only spread the stain. For this pre-treat with dishwashing soap such as Dawn or Ajax.

I have removed red wine stains with boiling water. Stretch out the fabric and pour the water over the stain. It is a 2 person job at times. One to hold and one to pour

Dissolve the Vanish (powder) thoroughly in a jug of warm water. Lay the shirt on a clean towel and pour some over the stain. Repeat each few hours till the stain is long gone. that is going to paintings I promise. Vanish is MAGIC!

Make a paste with Oxy clean and then a pre-soak with Oxy clean. But don't leave paste on too long (1 hr max) because it will fade out the color of the fabric if left on too long.

DIY with no knowledge of chemistry will most likely ruin it. Your best chance of saving it has always been and always will be, for stains on delicate garments is your local professional affiliated drycleaner. Usually the more expensive the better he is.

This might sound weird but try pouring white wine on it. Also you can try diluted hydrogen peroxide.
