Dear Yahoo! Answers buddy,
Every day, millions of computer are infected by spyware, adware, viruses, trojans, keyloggers, and much more....Then again, every day millions of people ask the question you're asking. And you know what? its based on opinion and experience.
In my opinion and experience, Trend Micro Pc Cillin is your best security package to buy.Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security and TrendSecure comprehensively safeguards your computers, your home networks and your personal identity. Email, shop, share pictures, bank, and instant message, confident that this award-winning security software helps prevent malicious attacks and reduces time-consuming interruptions. TrendSecure, a set of online services, provides extended protection, at home or on the go.
Then again, you dont have to take my word for it, take a look at cnet.com's review.
"Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security 2006 is a better buy than top-selling competitors Symantec Norton Internet Security 2006 and McAfee Internet Security 2006. . . It produces less of a drag on system performance, and PC-cillin users get free phone support – a rarity in the industry."
--CNET 2006
By the way, the person recommending filesclab is full of...

Great question. Hope this will help a lot of people. There are about 500 new virus, trojan, keyloggers, BHO's being written every day and unfortunately there is no one product that will take care of all of these problems. Fortunately the best 5 products on the market today, are free. Spybot "Search & Destroy", "Hijack This", "Ad-Aware SE Personal," "Avg" and finially a program that is designed to keep those problems from ever getting into your computer in the first place "Spywareblaster." If I can help in any way, hit me on dumbbutt4321@Yahoo.com and i'll work with you until the problems are solved. Thanks for the great question. Larry.

Please don't waste your money on Nortons Security Suite or any other products of theirs. You will be paying for the worse garbage in the world. An will give you no protection, just alot of pain and suffering. (Especially when you try to remove and your are left with 300 fragments glued to all your files and hidden over over your system, conflict is caused).
Want what I consider to be the very best antivirus system in the world. Used by the Government Of China.
Being a clinical psychiatrist I have a moral and legal obligation to keep my pc 100% clean from all virus/spyware/malware.
I tested every free and purchase antivirus system known. An I found only one that actually works 100%. Never had a virus or spyware in my system in nine years.
Go to, www.filseclab.com and download thier Twister AntiTrojan Virus program. (You will have to pay a small one time fee). You will never have to pay an annual fee for updates, support or new versions. The one time fee is for life. ($29.99)
The software company is located in Beijing, China. They have excellent support, frequent large signature updates an as always all new versions are free. No annual fee for anything.
Comes with a real time scanner that really works. Actually I am quite amazed over the nine years how well it works.
Scans memory on startup.
Real time scanning in the background.
Open any webpage with an embedded trojan/spyware or malware and scanner will clean on the spot. An It is really removed from your system.
Download any kind of program from zips, all compressed files, software files, music, etc, etc, an if there is a hidden embedded trojan, spyware, malware, this program will stop the download and clean. An will advise you to end the download.
Will even find a virus in the installer wizard, like "Wise Installer". And will stop the installation while it is being installed and clean. Plus this program always will trace back who installed the trojan.
I had a trojan in and wizard installer. Twister caught the trojan and stopped the installation. I wrote the origianl company and told them the wizard installer had an embedded trojan to steal your data. The company now uses thier own installer.
You can't beat this software for a one time purchase fee only. Actually I don't know of any antivirus progam that even comes close to this state of the art technology.
All I can say it is worth the one time fee. Your pc cost alot of money and you don't want it destroyed. Plus your privacy is protected at all times.
There is nothing in it for me to praise this program. I tell it like it is. If it is garbage then I will say so.
Always remember to download all your critical updates from Microsoft every 2nd., Tuesday of every month.
Install the free zonealarm firewall. www.zonealarm.com Excellent free firewall with free updates including all new versions of zonealarm.
Install, from www.lavasoft.com there Ad-Adware Personal Se.
Of if you desire you can install from www.superantispyware.com their free spyware program. Another excellent program that will give you free updates and scans every object in your system. (Scans all 170,000 objects in my system).
And if you are on dailup you can download from www.emsisoft.com Their free A2Squared Malware for personal use. This program will scan all object an also protect you from rogue dailers.
With this program you must fill out a very short form with your email address, because they will send you a regisration key for the free program or the purchase program.
When you get the registration key, all you will have to do is type in the email address you used and copy and paste the code in the box. Then you will wait a few minutes while their computers validates your email address & registration key. Upon completion, will say "Go with God's Speed", and then you continue with the installation.
This program give you free updates an all new versions. The only difference between the free is automatic updates and a guard in the tray that you really don't need. Manual updates is not a problem.
There are no conflicts with any of these program as I use them in my pc.
Hope that I have been of help to you.

hi, perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus and protect your PC. but you need to pay for the software
i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.
besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.
firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.
download firefox for free:

I'm using Zone Alarm Security Suite. It's pretty good. The firewall gets kind of annoying sometimes, but I guess I can always turn it off.
