Three were used blowing open the hatch, but they have more hidden in a back-pack that Hurley latter used to threaten to blow up the food that was found in the Hatch and Mr. Echo used it to try and blow open the Blast doors in the last episode of the 2 season.

i think it was 3 as stick #4 is what separated most of Arszt from the rest of Arszt, and gave us one of the show's funniest lines.
