Say after the first semester or even the first year, is it common for people to change courses if you are unhappy.

Yes it is very common so don't be afraid of changing courses. Even changing majors is very common.

The majority of people go into college with a major or no major in mind and come out with a totally different direction. Of course it is common. In most colleges and universities, people can stay undeclared ( declared no major) until their 3rd year in college.So why not?

You cannot unless you want to lose the money you've spent for the classes... Most colleges is 2 wks.

Of course.....you need to be in course studies that interest you and apply to your life goals. Do not feel like a failure, dear one.

My school had deadlines for drops and sign ups. I'm sure all schools have some policy on that.
