I'm the same way and I'm pregnant with my 3rd.Just try to eat healthy and stay away from the junk food.I know thats really hard because your pregnant you crave just about everything on the menu.Try and drink plenty of water and lots of walking will help you keep your weight under control.Dont put to much thought into gaining weight.Your pregnant right now and thats going to happen .Enjoy your pregnancy and worry about a diet after the baby is here.

Honey i have been there i gained 100 pounds during my pregnancy and i am still trying to lose the weight. My suggestion is to eat several small meals in a day and watch for sodium along with other nutrition facts because you retain alot of fluids while you are pregnant and my doctor told me to do the same things. Try to eat healthy snacks avoid potato chips and other good things that are not healthy. Use moderation just remember just because you are pregnant it doest give you the go ahead to eat uncontrollably. trust me i have been through this my daughter is 13 months old and due to my excessive weight gain i still have health issues. I urge you to take my advice and if you need anything e mail me any time hazel_bode@yahoo.com

People used to say you were eating for two if you were pregnant but that is nonsense. You don't actually need to eat a whole lot more calories. I wouldn't worry too much about the weight gain, when you have the baby you will be that busy running round it will probably drop right off anyway.
I think the best thing is to listen to your body and if its telling you to eat, then eat! Don't forget, the first 12 weeks are when your body is doing most of the hard work.
Good Luck and congratulations xx

I was the same when I was pregnant- the first time I put 5 stone on!!- I lost 3 and a half quickly - I've just had baby number 3 and the same happened again- although I was more careful- its a pain but as long as the baby is healthy and you are ok you can do something about the weight after!- try eating plenty of fibre foods ie weetabix - they fill!- enjoy!!- pregnancy not the weetabix!!

Maybe your trying to figure out what your body wants and not quite hitting the mark?

Try drinking more water - not as daft as it sounds a lot of people mistake hunger for thirst or try grapefruit, thats meant to be a natural appetite surpressent.

Don't obsess over it though would be the best advice I think. All those nutrients are helping to grow your baby so it's not a bad thing your eating, worry about the weight gain once you've got your bubba in your arms.

You must be pretty scared, hmmm? Okay, life just seems out of control right now, but you can handle this. Eat whenever you want, but make only good choices as far as what you eat. Stay away from sugars, they can trigger that runaway craving for more, and they're not really good for the baby either. Eat good proteins and lots of veggies and fruits, and make sure you get enough calcium too. If you concentrate on getting enough good food, you will be better able to avoid empty calories and all that extra sodium/salt, which can be very bad for you. Talk to your doctor about your appetite, I believe it's pretty normal for now and will naturally taper off later...but if you are a stress eater, you are wise to start handling this sooner rather than later.

I put on loads of weight when i was pregnant. I had an addiction to milk, i was drinking it by the bottle.
I wouldn't panic about it though. Try occupying yourself by going for walks or taking up an activity.
The most likely thing will be it won't last forever but just remember your baby is forming its shape at the moment and that could be why you are so hungry.
I wouldn't worry once you have had the baby you'll wonder what all the fuss was about.
Good luck.

I hope you're aware that being too thin during pregnancy can be much more dangerous than being too fat? It sounds like you're very, very worried about your body image. But right now, that's not the most important thing. It's not even important at all. Have a healthy baby. That is your only job right now. This is a good time to work on accepting your body and being healthy, rather than being thin.

Its ok to eat but watch what you eat certain foods you ate before you should not eat now. While I was pregnant all I ate were salads, fruits, veggies, and every now and then I would crave hot wings and stuff like that but alot of the time I had to ignore it because I craved those kinds of thing alot. But after I had my baby it was as if I wasn't even pregnant. The nurse came in to press on my belly and asked me was she in the right room and was I sure I just had a baby.(LOL) So don't worry to much just try to eat right.

Try not to eat too much, but if you are hungry, eat! Stick to healthy things like whole grains, fruit, veggies, etc, and try to stay away from overly processed foods, junk food, and that sort of thing. You will get full faster and stay full longer if you eat healthy.
When you see your doctor for your first checkup, be sure to share your concerns about weight gain, and if you are over or underweight, I'm sure she or he will tell you, along with some ideas to help the situation.
Congratuations on your pregnancy!
