I don't know the exact number, but i know that the producers screen the potential acts before sending them through as a friend of mine didn't make it through to the main 3 after queuing for hours

i cant give you a figure but it is cut down to 3 different catagories. to begin with the figure who actualy applied was 1 mill.. lou. sharron. and simon each take a catagorie,,they are at the "battle it out"!

It's definately alot as they are there all day,let's face it some of the contestants must be sent in to wind to them up. I watched it the other evening and couldn't have the sound on at times as i was dying of embarrasment.At least were in boot camp now!
