Norwich City Football Club is a football club based in Norwich, Norfolk, England, founded in 1902. They are known as "The Canaries" and wear a yellow and green strip to reflect this. The nickname originates from one of the clubs early managers. He kept Canaries as a hobby (as was popular in Norfolk at the time) and often used to refer to his team as his canaries. The name stuck. The club plays in The Championship of the Football League and last played in the Premier League in 2004-05.

The traditional club colours are yellow shirts, green shorts and yellow socks. As of June 2006, the away kit is all white[1]. The club badge consists of a Canary resting on a football with the City of Norwich arms in the top left corner.

QPR was formed in 1882, when a team known as St Jude's merged with Christchurch Rangers. The resulting team was called Queen's Park Rangers, because most of the players came from the Queens Park area which is part of the London suburb of North Kensington. QPR became a professional team in 1889 and played their home games in 14 different stadiums, a league record, before permanently settling in Loftus Road in 1917 (although the team briefly played at White City during the 1962-63 season in the hope of attracting larger crowds).

In 1882 when the team started they played in dark blue and light blue halves but chnaged their strip in 1892 to the blue and white hoops for no particular reason although the shirts gave them the nicknames 'The Hoops' and 'The Superhoops'. One reason might have been to try to obtain a unique strip which would not need to be changed when playing other sides with clashing colours thus cutting the need for a second strip. Alternatively they may have bought a rugby strip either in error nor due to cost as stripes in rugby were quite common.

Manchester United were originally Newton Heath F C and their original colourse were green and yellow quarters. They had mixed fortunes and the story goes that one adty a collection tin that was passed around the crowd for donations was snatched by a St Bernard dog which ran away with it. The tin was later recovered and this led to the meeting between team captain Harry Stafford and John Henry Davies, who would lead a group of businessmen. Together, they came up with £2,000 to save the club from bankruptcy.

John Henry Davies became the club president, and on 28 April 1902, the new owners renamed the club Manchester United Football Club, after considering the alternate names "Manchester Celtic" and "Manchester Central". They also changed the team's colours to red and white. The cavalry arrived just in time as Newton Heath ended a disastrous season 15th with only 28 points.

Manchester City's home colours are sky blue and white. Their traditional away kit colours are either maroon or red and black; however, in recent years several different colours have been used. Through the 2004-06 campaigns the team will wear an all-navy away kit. The current third kit is yellow. The origins of the club colours are unclear, but there is evidence that the club have worn blue since 1892 or earlier. A booklet entitled Famous Football Clubs - Manchester City published in the 1940s indicates that West Gorton (St. Marks) originally played in scarlet and black, and reports dating from 1884 describe the team wearing black jerseys bearing a white cross, showing the club's origins as a church side.
