I just bought a 16x dvd-rom drive from compusa and after i installed it and restarted the computer the drive won't open and the light keeps blinking green slowly. if I manually open it with a paper clip then try to close it it opens itself. Please help

I forgot to add they are plugged into cable select I tried having my cdrw drive as master and dvd drive as slave and I got the same result.

to find out if the DVD Rom is faulty, why don't you unplug your cdrw and use the DVD Rom as the master and see if you still get the blinking.

Probably want to take it back with the receipt and demand a new one. If that one does it too, it's your computer, or else you installed it incorrectly.
