Savce before you make the change. Exit it, then reenter. Do this whenever the accident occurs, save every time before you make changes.

You might have pressed the Button "insert",which is used for the purpose what is happening with you.
Another thing that your Microsoft word which is installed might have an option enabled in auto correct that if you write "red ball" than it should be replaced with "red bal".
You must change it or Finish this option.

You probably have overtype on, you can look down at the bottom of the Word window and if it shows "OVR" it has it so when you type it does your example. To fix this, press the Insert key (to the right of the backspace key) to toggle it on/off. Hope this helps.

At the bottom of the word document there is a Status bar, double click on the OVR (overtype) word.

At the bottom of the screen there is a "OVR" in black lettering that is selected, click it to make it grey in color and that should solve your problem.

JUST HIT INSERT. dont do all of that crazy stuff. just hit insert and if it ever does it again just press insert. that should fix your problem
