well, you exploring the unknown and seeing what you can't now see is the whole point isn't it? It is not the finished story but your own plunging into that place where things can be seen and seeing how you see things is what it is all about no?

Would you want to climb Mount Everest or have a helicoptor drop you off at the top?

Ideas? off the top of my head ...hmmm how about some part of your body that you don't like but that you are so resisting it that you are blinded to the fact that is has served you so well in some way and it gets scarred or damaged and you can write about how you deal and cope with the change to that body part ......

Come'on. Do you ever truly run out of ideas? Or do you just not write them down when they hit you and you forget them because life takes you other places? Take a pad and paper ONLY for ideas for stories, when your eating and you get an idea (perhaps from overhearing a conversation, watching something, or just driving down the road) go to the next safe spot and write it down, otherwise, ideas are like dreams and we have a tendency go off on other "tangents" and lose the ideas.

Spend an hour a day with the radio off, perhaps in a park or peaceful area brainstorming. Just thinking about your genre and what is relevant to your readers.
