we have very large sunflowers. what kind are they?

Mammoth might be the one. Another that gets huge is Giant Russian. You can usually get both at a decent Lawn & Garden Center in the spring.

If they are very tall with very large flowers, they are called Mammoth. Burpee Garden Products sell them (Martha Stewart also, as Burpee packages the Martha Stewart garden and flower seeds>)
