In 983 there was the European Champion's Club Cup and NOT the Champions League.
The Champions League was "born" in 1992-1993, replacing the European Champion's Club Cup.
In 983 the final was played in Athens between Hamburger (GER) and Juventus (ITA). I watched that game and it was a very emotional match. Athen was "invaded" by more than 50.000 Juventus fans (the attendance was over 70.000) who were sure of the Juventus victory.
The Italians were the favorite for the title and they had in their Team several World Champions from the 1982 World Cup Final (Zoff, Gentile, Cabrini, Scirea, Paolo Rossi, Tardelli) plus Boniek and Platini.
The game was decided by a stunning shot by Felix Magath, a German midfielder with a powerful shot!
Even though the goal was scored at the beginning of the second half, Juventus was not able to catch up with the Germans, who deserved their victory and left so much disappointment in the Juventus Team.

Looks like you posted this question twice as I just answered it: the 1983 final was played in the Olympic stadium in Athens, Greece and Hamburg SV beat Juventus Turin 1-0 on a great goal by Felix Magath, the present trainer of Bayern Munich.
