Is there any law in the UK which prevents us selling second hand electrical goods at our Scouts jumble sale? If we can sell them, do they have to be checked and with a plug etc?

Gotta be checked and should also be able to test/try on site, also the organisers of the sale are equally liable as the seller should an accident occur later with the said item, welcome to sue heaven......

jumble sales are no different then selling second hand some registered charity shops have them checked because of legal issues if an appliance was not fit and caused harm. But a jumble sale you buy as seen and you buy at own risk. Charity shops mark up the price to pay for the checks as jumble sales sell what they can get for it that afternoon and usely very cheaply.
Jumble sales have little legality.

I thought that you can't give electrical goods away to charity stroes etc but if you are selling them at a sale they have to have the plug cut off. Not sure how true that is.
