He comes from a family of boxers, that's boxer as in handy with his fists, not licking his nads in front of the fire. He does look a bit thugish though, doesn't he? As for being typically English, we're not all like that. Some of us look like we can string words together, and perform simple tasks! Like typing answers.
Is this is fair on Wayne Rooney? The guy's loaded so i don't think he's bothered. He might be ugly but he makes more money in a week, then I do in a year. His girlfriend's not bad looking either, so I don't think we need to have too much pity for him.

As to whether he is ugly, that is in the eye of the beholder.
Rooney is an Irish name and the Rooney family are Liverpudlians of Irish origin. So his look is not typically English!

Rooney is not the best looking Brit all that matters is his ability to play football and at the moment he is not at his best, by the way Rooney is not fat, hardly any of his BMI is fat its mostly muscle.
Oh and we don't want another English footballer who cares more about his image than his football and I don't think Wayne will ever be like that. So its good that he looks like he is and is built the way he is (his football relies on his strength and if he lost weight then he would lose his skills)

know what i would not go for his look's because what rooney's got is a world class and best footballer that has come out of croxteth and i don't give a toss what ever anyone say's about his look's he is a good player and if it was all look's and no quality of a person we would all be classed as ugly.
he is a very very good footballer.and the best part is he is a an out and out scoucer.not all scoucer's are bad ok.give them a chance and truest me we would have loads of good footballer's and boxer's from liverpool.i'm a liverpool supporter from goa in india and i must say when there is a good player he got to stand up and say he is a good player.don't look for the negative in him because he has alway's been a good player.

Well that's a little rude. And my don't some people in here have tickets on themselves to be so ungracious about how someone else looks. He may not be drop dead gorgeous but he certainly isn't ugly. There are far far worse. Anyway with playing ability like he has who gives a cuss. Guess people have a need to focus on negativity.

Actually, I kinda hate French noses.... The ones that just point down... It looks weird, lol. No offence.
For the Rooney thing, I couldn't care less what he looks like, it's how he plays that has an impact.
At least he's not a sex-pistol like Beckham, he actually has talent.
Besides it's not like he's trying to be a model here... He's a football player. You get dirty and muddy and nobody cares what you look like, they care if you won or lost.

well i wouldnt say english are ugly but wayne rooney certainly is but that does not matter as he is such a talented footballer
