To those who keep calling me racist, you should know that I'm black. I asked this question because it came up in my American history class.

Yes! In fact, they shouldn't have been made slaves in the first place. How would you have liked to be forcibly marched in chains a hundred plus miles from your home, by odd looking people you can't understand, to the coast where you get loaded into the cargo hold of a ship. Then you spend most of your time left in filth and unsanitary conditions in that cargo hold. And when you get to this New World, you're auctioned off like cattle and in most cases not treated much better once you get to your final destination.

Sorry for the rant, but people should not treat other people that way.

Blacks shouldn't have been enslaved in the first place.

Just because the color of skin is different don't make anyone any less of a person than anyone else. It's really sad that we still can't get over the race issue. You want to get down to it, there is no black and white. We are all brown, just different shades, some darker and some lighter.

I think blacks should never have been enslaved in the first place. Some hard labor for the benefit of someone else might do YOU some good though.

I have to admit, if this was a question your instructor/professor whatever posed, he could have found a better controversial issue to debate.........
Im not sure I would tell him that though....

Are you just trying to "bait" people? Surely you could find a less offensive way of doing so.

Of course. No human being should be treated as a slave.
