I admit I like food, and have nothing better to do on my off time than eat. Cooking is my hobby, yet I am not considered fat (at least not by my last physical). I made light of it, patted my blooming belly and made a comment I hoped it was twins. (keep in mind I'm a guy), but this did hurt my feelings. Was this insensitive to call attention to my little bulge of a belly?

I believe that this was insensitive of your neighbor but hopefully they didn't intend it to be offensive. If YOU have a problem with your belly then add some excercise between those meals. But if not, then brush it off and assume they meant no harm. You handled it very diplomatically by the way.

Sometimes it just depends on who it is that is commenting and how they say it. If your belly doesn't bother you and you keep your weight relatively under control and you are comfortable with that then live your own life. Evidently you are aware of your belly so essentially it is all up to you. My neighbor lost most of his belly walking 3-5 miles a day and still eats almost anything he wants within moderation. Good Luck and don't sweat the small stuff.

Yeah it was. Your neighbor was completely out of line, but he/she may not have realized that you would be sensitive to a comment like that. Some people just blow those things off. Don't worry about it too much. The majority of us have a little bit of a belly. lol

P.S I love to cook and eat too! Trust me, working out does help

Totally wrong, dude! If you are happy with yourself, then tell the world to fuc* off! This world is too full of people who let others dictate who or what we should be or look like. I'd tell this nosey neighbor to go straight to hell because I love who I am. Don't let anyone make you feel bad about how you look. Have you ever seen a geode? Do a search online, and you'll see. They're great.

I had the same experience. I invited a neighbor into my home when she called unexpectedly and was very friendly and kind to her but all she could mention as she left was the fact that I was a little overweight.
My weight didn't bother me but it is strange that people seem to overlook the more positive things and comment on what is usually considered to be more negative.

If they've known you awhile they probably meant it jokingly, but it was still quite rude to say. Either you go to your neighbor and say their comment bothered you or wait until it happens again and tell them you don't apprecaite their comment. I would also suggest taking up some more hobbies (in addition to not replacing cooking and eating) so you will have more to do in your spare time then eat

Next time grab your crotch and say "with a tool like this, I had to build a shed over it". It is insensitive and immature.
