Mathmatically, yes, but realistically - NO - they should have started the "winning" thing about the all-star break.. They waited a little too late this time!! I am wondering why Phil Garner can not get the team fired up during the entire season.. they are always so "spurty."

If you look at the standings, you think sure, somewhat. But take a look at the schedule. The rest of the season for Houston is on the road and they are below .500 on the road. The rest of the season for St. Louis is at home and they have 10+ over .500 record at home. If they won today and then that might give them some motivation and St. Louis might slump. But for Houston to go to the playoffs means for St. Louis to go 3-5 in 8 games. And that's not a realistic situation.

Mathematically, yes. Reality, no. They are an average team at best and do not deserve to be in the playoffs. I guess they will just have to wait till next year when Roger the Dodger will string them along again for another big contract.

I suspect that with 8 games to go, their 4.5 behind St Louis and the magic number to eliminate them is 5, they're done. With a losing record, they don't deserve to be in the post season...

Yes, but I think one more loss will eliminate us. We don't deserve to go. Garner should be FIRED. He is a terrible manager.
