Is it possible that someone can send you poems with secretly hidden love messages in them...or maybe i'm just reading too much into them.

Usually, if someone sends you poem in this day and age, he's into you.
Poetry is a way of relaying secret emotions and feelings. They use poems because poems can be interpeted in so many different ways. Interpret the poem any way you want to, but take into account the person who sends you the poems attitude towards you, etc.
The confirming message should be in that.
Besides, reading into things more in life makes you more aware of what is really happening around you. Some people just shut themselves off so severely, that all they can fully comprehend is the direct, literal and easy things. Don't become stupid like them.
