I hate hip-hop, rap, and r&b. even when whites sing it, like vanilla ice, eminem, and such. that's because in hip-hop and such, they degrade women, promote violence, and drugs, and alcochol, and use vulgar lanugage. I like wholesome music, that actually has sense to it. Like rock, alternative, heavy metal, europop, and classical. all hip-hop and such sounds the same. they say how great and vain they are. all their "whoes" love them, and they have money, and everything. all that crap.

That's not a racist question, sweetie. Most don't because they don't, won't, or can't understand the music in my opinion.
Kyle j, can you explain exactly what "ghetto" means? I mean really, truly explain it to me.
It may not have been a racist question but there are a lot of racist "answers" to this question. I mean really, if you don't understand the music just say so and leave it alone. Don't fall into the stereotypes that "you people" (yeah, I went there) put on the d@mn TV. Like there is "death metal" (what the hell is up with that) and other different genres within rock; there are many different genres under rap, hip-hop, and R&B.

I think it's all cultural. We grow up listening to certain types of music and that's mainly what we relate to. With other genres, it's like we're looking at them from an outside perspective.
Where I'm from, it seems like most black people listen to rap and hate country music. It's because they don't understand the stories/perspectives of country artists.
I think it's the same thing with many white people not liking Hip Hop. It's partly because they see the overtly negative images that are in most hip hop videos, but it's also because they are looking at it from an outside perspective and can't identify with the mindset of the artists.
Also, I think it's just our differences in music preference (instruments, chords, singing styles).
I personally can get into any type of music, but there are a few genres that are so familiar to me that I appreciate them the most.

Because different races tend to like different music.. especially if they were raised in a different country. Or maybe its because not much RnB, hip hop, and rap is not performed by white people so uh its difficult to relate to the lyrics and sound?

I think a lot of people hate it, not just whites. Where I am from the only people who seem to really like it are all on crack. I did see a few live shows, one was by Van Zant (later) that was pretty good and fun. Most of the stuff out there just seems to be either about swearing or promoting consumerism. You know, the hey look at me I deal dope and Pimp Ho's, look at my Pimpmobile. It is all just so sad and so formula. It seems to have all been written by advertsing firms. I have heard a few tunes I liked but to hear snoopy poopy doggy trying to catch with the shizzle talk is just about sad enough to make me want to cry.

I don't even get why you had to make it a point that you're not racist. You take a simple logical question and act like it's going to offend someone. I hate rap, hip hop, and r&b because it's a generally bad music style, with stolen lyrics from other good performers.

maybe because they dont like....there are also alot who embrace it and the hip hop culture....but we give them a hard time for that.....why do most black people dislike rock music? I dont I love it....but its true. they call it "white people music"...but more black people than u think listen to it....and more white people listen to hip hop rap and r&b than you think.

Because it sucks. Its annoying. Its not even music its just some idiot putting an electronic drum kit on autopilot while he screams about beating women and shooting cops over the top of it.
Think about some noise that you find tedious and annoying to listen to. That's what people who like music think of (c)rap and that ilk.
