I love visual arts, but I don't know if I'm good enough to be accepted into an art school. See, the thing is I didn't take art after the tenth grade because I chose more science-oriented courses because at the time I thought that was the career for me. Well, fast forward a few years later and I have changed my goals... any opinions or suggestions? I guess I have a low-self-esteem character.

YOU WILL ONLY KNOW IF YOU TRY!!!!. GETTING INTO ART SCHOOL IS NOT BASED ON HOW GOOD YOU ALREADY ARE, BUT HOW MUCH POTENTIAL YOU HAVE TO IMPROVE THE SKILL YOU ALREADY HAVE.. IF YOU HAVE ONLY MINOR TALENT, YOU STILL SHOULD TRY. UNFORTUNATELY MANY PEOPLE BELIEVE THAT THEY SHOULD KNOW THE SUBJECT BEFORE THEY GO TO SCHOOL! BUT THAT IS A FALSE CONCEPT. GOING TO LEARN WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT A SUBJECT IS THE RIGHT REASON TO GO. DON'T WORRY JUST TRY SEVERAL SCHOOLS AND YOU WILL FIND ONE THAT ACCEPTS YOU. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY ... "YOU" MUST TRY FIRST!!!! bEST OF WISHES TO YOU! P.S. IGNORE ANY NEGATIVE ANSWERS "ART COMES FROM THE HEART!"

You'll never unless you try...! Why don't you take a couple of art classes at night at your local community college, or at a "Y"? That way, you'll get a "feel" for art and you'll see where you stand. Take any paintings, drawings or art projects you've done and show your instructor. Speak with the instructor and ask for his/her personal opinion. You might be very pleasantly surprised. If not, work harder and see where it takes you. Listen, I've often said, skills and talent alone won't get you anywhere without passion... HOW passionate are you about pursuing an art career? The world of art has so many, many different fields... I'm sure you'll find your niche, but you must WANT it with a passion!

The very worst thing in life is reaching a point where you start to live with regrets and doubts. "I could've...", "I might've....", "I should've...", "I wonder if..." or "What if I..." and so forth. Suppose that mid-way into your art studies you discover that you simply don't love it enough to want to pursue it...? AT LEASE you'll know definitively because you tried and you'll have discovered that it wasn't for you... and you won't have to live with regrets and doubts for the rest of your life!

We've all had our doubts every now and then; you're not alone. It's what is commonly called, "life!" Don't let that prevent you from trying to ascertain if art is what you want. Everyone else, regardless of how talented they may see to you has had doubts and will continue to have doubts throughout their lifetime.

Talents and skills come in many, many different forms, shapes and sizes... and there's a place for each and every one. Art Therapy, Art Education, etc...!

Good luck and very best wishes.

hi. i does no longer wager photograph paintings out of your paintings, i'd think of you will want to do extra positive paintings. yet photograph paintings would be large too. you're truthfully proficient. those are very gentle, non-flashy products. undecided why you think of 18 would desire to be too late. that isn't ballet, after all. i did no longer pass to formal paintings college till i grew to become into 30 and now i'm a painter comprehensive time. on the comparable time, i does no longer do in case you sense you're forcing your self. that is diverse paintings and to do it without the keenness would be brutal. yet, in case you actual do have the keenness and are purely nerve-racking which you is actual no longer sturdy adequate, or is actual no longer waiting to get extra effective, i will tell out of your paintings which you're sturdy adequate, and you will no longer have faith how lots your paintings will strengthen in school. you would be surprised. i attempted to coach myself to color for some years formerly i grew to become into finally waiting to pass to paintings college. by making use of myself i could no longer get previous a undeniable factor. that replaced in school.
