it is not in trouble-free terms people. I moved from New Zealand to Australia in the early 80s and located that the Aussie experience of humour is greater like the people, on the same time as New Zealanders regularly favored the greater diffused English form. supply me sure Minister over Seinfeld any day. of course the real hero of British comedy is Sir Michael Crawford, AKA Frank Spencer. do no longer tell me he's no longer a Sir, it rather is in trouble-free terms a rely of time.

British humour is often about self-deprication. (Most) Americans don't get that because they are brought up to be self assured and to be positive about themselves. They just think its odd when we take the piss out of ourselves. Mind you - they are getting better at it. Then again, with a president like this, they must have a sense of humour.... http://youtube.com/watch?v=r9sa7YjCblU&mode=related&search=

I think its because most of us brits laugh at sick jokes - we are kind of wierd aren't we.
I don't think Monty Python is funny or Mr Bean but most americans think its hilarious.
Whereas, I love Little Britain and South Park

In my own personal exerience I find Americans over the top, in a good way, willing to go out of their way to please people and the English aren't. We're too busy making snide remarks and taking the mickey out of people. We just can't be nice.
