I have an Epson Stylus CX4200, on an intel iMac. So, in July, I purchased new ink. For sometime, it would print, but nothing would show up on the page. But now it prints color. But the turns out really light, and the colors are different. If I were t print out white, it would be light orange. Just now, I tried to take the ink things in and out, and then print what I needed to be printed out, but I still have the same problem. The black prints out perfectly, but the color does not work properly. Any ideas how I can make it work?

If you just purchased the ink in July the expiration date should be o.k.

Did you try the maintenance option and clean the print heads? Open a document and issue the command to print. When the window displays, there should be a "maintenance" tab. Click this. Clean the print heads. You may have to do it 2-3 times.

The nozzles may be clogged. A site called www.fixyourownprinter.com sells a solution and syringe you use to unclog the nozzles.

I was also advised to remove the cartridges and sit them in 1/2 inch of boiling water for 10 minutes. Do not touch the contacts. Then sit cartridges on a paper towel for a minute to blot them. Reinstall. This helps.

You could have a clogged jet. Try taking out the cartridges and cleaning where the ink comes out of them and where it goes into the printer with some rubbing alcohol.

If its a new ,take it back. But first check the date on the cart.It may be expired. In other words your ink may have dried up.
