i already got the food and have no time to buy the conditioner either and i want my goldfish to be safe

yes all water conditioner does the same thing, some may take out more toxins than others.

Conditioner isn't necessary if you let the water stand for 24 hours before you put it in the tank. You can simply use freshwater salt, sea salt or kosher salt at a rate of one teaspoon for every 5 gallons (add it only to the tank once and then to the new water you put in or it will build up too much). Salt will protect your fish from some of the more common problems like ich and fungus.

I think you would be able to. But mabey just to be on the safe side i would go get goldfish conditioner. I dont know.
