Two completely different stories.

Tice was a great coach except on Sunday. Players, media fans, everyone liked him and he had good game plans. Unfortunately he made a lot of in game bad decisions and lost too much.

Martz wore out his welcome. He was such a jerk and that only works if you're winning. Even though he had good history of winning there, it didn't take much losing before he was shown the door.

Mike Tice was fired because the owner felt the team needed a change in direction after all the bad publicity they got last year. I can't say I blame that owner.

Martz was fired because the Rams didn't think his health was good enough for him to be coaching everyday. They bought out of his contract.

Because they are bad coaches who's teams constantly under-acheived.
