We have started re-selling arms to the man who was responsible for blowing an Airline over Scotland, UK killing 300. Who attacked Americans anywhere we could be found, Who was responsible for killing a British policewoman, who created carnage in West Africa, Liberia and Sierra Leone. Have we not learnt anything?

Learn to play nice with the rest of the world, then you are free to kill and oppress within your own borders. That's my take on Libya.

What's intersenting to me is when people try to justify the overthrow of Saddam, because he was a brutal dictator. Well, the United States did support his regime during the 80's. During the Iran-Iraq War (1980-1988) military equipment was sold by the United States to Saddam, this is common knowlege, so I'm not just posting nonsense. You can easily find the informantion online. Iraq invaded Iran shortly after the 1979 Revolution, which makes me wonder if there were some "talks" between the Reagan Administration and Saddam. That's just a thought, but Iraq did start the war, and I'm sure there was some concern about Iran defeating them, so Reagan slept with the dog.

The United States has a long histroy of supporting right-wing dictors in Central and South America. And many oppressive regimes in the Middle East. The Shah of Iran was put into power by the United States, and he ruled by force. If you read the history of Iran, you will get a better understanding of the revolution and why it occured. Many groups participated in the overthrow, but in the end the Islamic Fundmentalists took control. And then they "purged". Many fleed or were killed after the revolution. So, a new oppressor came to power. One that in many ways is worse then the Shah, but I think they were progressing and just needed to be brought back into the world community. Now, here's where I think Bush messed up, instead of labeling them part of the Axis of Evil, he should have sought to restore ties with them. They were not involved in the 9-11 attacks, so why inflame and isolate them?

I think a more cognitive approach needs to be taken when dealing with terrorist groups, bombing and overthrowing regimes to rid them of extremists makes things much worse, because it creates more violence and terror, which is exactly what the extremist want.

We've started selling arms to him? REALLY? Damn, you must be privy to some major intelligence the rest of the world isn't. Seriously, he's not a threat. He knows we'd take him down to China Town.
