if oil producing countries,like Iran and other anti american countries,decide to sell their oil in Euros instead of the $...theres been talk of this....How much would America lose and how far would they go to prevent this from happening....

To Rockandroll:i am not anti-american in fact i agree with Americas policy on 'The war on Terror' (I am Scottish by the way)....i just wanted to know what would happen to Americas Economy if the Iranians etc did this(they would do this purely out of spite cause they would lose alot of money changing to the Euro)....It doesn't matter who has the strongest economy they would just be doing it to get Americas back up.....Its quite amazing how,when you ask a civil question about USA ,we all end up Anti-American(who does that remind u of.....Muslims,,,pot kettle black eh?)

Some people haven't got a scooby doo(clue)....Oil is sold by the dollar so countries have to buy dollars from US to buy oil(US make money from this) but if iran etc or even OPEC sell it in Euros then everybody would have to buy Euros even US so Europe makes money(commission) and US wont cause nobody is buying dollars

No. That will not effect the dollar, if it happens. And that is a big "if".
Both the dollar and euro will crash when the Chinese take the artificial cap off the yuan. But the euro crashing will lead to the dissolution of the EU leaving the yuan, dollar, yen and English pound as the four primary currencies in the world. It will be several years following the collapse of the euro before the New Deutch Mark catches up to the other 4 currencies.
