What is the real definition of cheating?...some people feel that they can confide in someone else besides their partner, about the way they are feeling emotionally, is this considered to be cheating, you know being able to connect with that particular person, male, and female or vice versa on a one to one level, it could be just that you feel you connect with this person and that they understand you, so is this cheating, without the age old scenario of bodies colliding in bed , or is it more than that, what other factors come into play, thats regarded as cheating?........I must admit i am in a very beautiful relationship, but i also have a lot of male friends who i feel i connect with differently to my partner, i dont mean to flirt with, we just connect, in different ways, so am i cheating?.......

If you're doing something with another person that your spouse wouldn't approve of, that is cheating. Could be chatting online, could be just having s*x.....

It's different in every relationship. The classic definition is attached to being unfaithful, which in itself has varying boundaries.

For example, in my relationship, we've established that we both could make out with other people. Anything sexual beyond that would require one of us to be in the same room. So while I can make out with someone else, if I were to go further and my partner wasn't there, that would be considered "cheating".

To define exactly what cheating is in your relationship, talk with your partner and set boundaries.

Honestly, I believe cheating can be done in many different ways. You don't have to be physically cheating to be emotionally cheating.
When your partner is willing to sacrifice things for a female friend but not you; that is cheating.
When he would rather spend time with his female friend then you and not include you; that is cheating.
When he confides and talks **** about you during arguments to a female friend; that is cheating.
And, of course, sleeping with another woman is cheating.

This is easy....Just turn it around and take a good look. If your significant other was to do the exact same thing to you, would it hurt you? Will you be upset if your partner has many female friends and while u aren't around he is "connecting" with them? Do what you expect your partner to do. You can break up and date around, you are not married right?

honestly, i feel the same way. i'm love the man i'm with but we seem to always have problems and for me to express myself to him it's like murder. sometimes it hurts me not to be able to communicate with him like i should. i have a friend i can come to about anything and i don't hide anything from my boyfriend but i feel so much better if that friend could be him. neither you or me should have to go outside of the relationship for conversation because the persons were with is suppose to be the friend we need. so my answer is nope you aren't cheating if you know where you stand and you respect the person your with. it's just everyone needs someone to talk to.

Well, I don't think so, but then again I'm not your partner, Set down with him/her and talk about it I know me & my man sat down & had a long talk about what each of us considered cheating, so we both know what to avoid so there won't have any disagreements about it

If you need to ask other people then you must think it is a little wrong. What would you do if your partner did it to you that is what you need to ask yourself and you will know if it is or not.
