The Catholic church leader is the Pope in Rome. The Anglican church broke away from the Catholic church because the Catholic church refused to let Henry VIII divorce his wife and threaten to ex-communicate him if he divorced, he refused the Catholic church demand and formed the Anglican church. The leader of the Anglican is the British king or queen. Also, the Catholic church does not allow its priests to marry. The Anglican Church allows his clergy to marry. Both the Catholic and Anglican church was much more liberal than the Puritans believed should be. The puritans believed that the life and morals of the people should be controlled by their church and that people should be punished surverely for improper dress, sex outside of marriage, working on Sunday, etc.

All I know is that the anglican church was founded because the English king wanted to get divorced, but the catholic church wouldn't allow it - so he made his own church.
