It depends on the state as to what the legal driving age is. It's 16 in the state where I live. However, they're raising it to 18. I don't think raising it to 21 is going to matter. It's a matter of experience in driving. If you have NEVER drove until the age of 21 you're going to have just as much of a problem as a 17 year old would. Only a 21 year old may make better decisions than a 17 year old when it comes to driving.

No I Think It Should Be 16 If you Can Have Sex And Have A Baby & Smoke At 16 Why Not Be Able To Drive At 16 Plus If You Raised It To 21 How Would People Get To Work?

If you want to raise the legal age to drive to 21, you will have to raise the legal age of leaving school and going to college or work to 21 also. There would be no point in kids leaving school and being unable to go to college or work. We would end up with a country of layabouts who would use the excuse that they were unable to travel so they could do nothing. But I think we should have compulsory driving school like America.

I am half and half here, on one hand 17 is very young for a lot of drivers as they are totally immature and drive like maniacs, on the other hand some are excellent drivers and deserve their license, maybe they should have to do a certain amount of motorway lessons before they are allowed to go in for their test and maybe a few classroom lessons on horrific accidents and what they do to peoples life's could make them think more.

I'm half and half as well. Putting an immature 17 (or 18, 19, etc) in a fast car is like giving them a lethal weapon, plus they think they're invincible at that age. On the other hand, there'll just be more illegal drivers on the road. It's a toughie, that one.

How will teens ever be able to drive theirselves to work or college?
I think that the age it is at it maybe too high. I think that if you can past the test then you should be able to drive. I also think that adults should have to retake the test maybe say every 10 years or so because the elderly sometimes drive very slow and could cause accidents as much as teens can.

Never. It is just too hard. People need to go to college, work, and some are even starting families. 21 is too old. In my state, you could get your license at 16 and that is working out well.

As an HGV driver i think it wouldn't make a difference as to the driving attitude of the younger driver, but i strongly believe that they should be a limit on engine size/power,after all, all us professional drivers are limited to around 55mph.
