Oh yes you can get used to it. Before I went into Nursing I was really concerned that terrible injuries would make me sick. They had before when I saw pictures of accident victims in magazines. I was considering Medicine as a career in High School and then my science club went to the University of Miami Medical School and they brought us to the Gross Anatomy Lab where they cut the cadavers up to learn the human anatomy. Some of the kids were so excited. I was sick. I did not eat meat for a week. That put an effective stop on my medical career thoughts. Well it is a long story but I finally went into Nursing about 10 years later after my Engineering Courses bored me to tears. I was truly concerned gross thing I would naturally have to see would affect me. My first course in Nursing brought us to the problem of Decubitus Ulcers, usually bed sores, where the flesh in areas of the body, the size of a large hand, died when old or paralyzed patients were not turned properly while in bed. Bones became visible in some cases. I thought I was going to die when a picture of an old woman flashed up on the screen and her backbone was showing through the hole in her sacrum. I stuck with it, and to be frank I was a field paramedic for a while and eventually went into emergency medicine for 20 years. I have seen things that would make a maggot puke, but I must admit I only got queasy twice in the 34 years I have been in the this career. Don't be frightened you can overcome this. It is only a response to your compassion and empathy for the victim. People like you make wonderful healers and it would be a shame if you were deferred because of this minor problem. It is like any phobia if you face it eventually it becomes a tolerable thing, and even leaves you completely. Trust in yourself to overcome this with courage and repetitive exposure it will simply disappear. Good luck whatever you do...

Just use the mantra over and over again, I will not be squeamish, I will not be squeamish....and remember, in the end, that's all we really are!

Hypnositic suggestion can help you get rid of this anxiety. EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is another method of dispelling fears.

Yes- keep donating blood. I use blood in experiments. Once you have donated a few hundred times you don't think about it!!! :)

Yes, if you WANT to, you can do it!
Just get thinking about your irrationality about it, and surprise yourself.
In fact you can DO ANYTHING within reason if you really CHOOSE to do it! The more challenges you overcome, the strong you become, try it!

I'm ok once I get over the initial shock. Then I can do what needs to be done.

I think she has developed a greater realisation of her own mortality and it is probably a realisation after having to go through what she has, may God guide her and cure her. She is perhaps also developed a psychological avoidance of anything that reminds her of such. The only cure I know of is to face the issue of one's mortality, seek out the purpose of life, and live according to it, in submission to God almighty. Consider these verses, translated : 39:36. Is not God sufficient for His slave? Yet they try to frighten you with those (whom they worship) besides Him! And whom God sends astray, for him there will be no guide. 39:37. And whomsoever God guides, for him there will be no misleader. Is not God All-Mighty, Possessor of Retribution? 39:38. And verily, if you ask them: "Who created the heavens and the earth?" Surely, they will say: "God (has created them)." Say: "Tell me then, the things that you invoke besides God, if God intended some harm for me, could they remove His harm, or if He (God) intended some mercy for me, could they withhold His Mercy?" Say : "Sufficient for me is God; in Him those who trust (i.e. believers) must put their trust." 39:39. Say: "O My people! Work according to your way, I am working (according to my way). Then you will come to know,
