Yes, for several reasons. One, the U.S.A. is the single biggest charitable organization in the world. Besides the billions of dollars we send to foreign countries in aid every year, the U.S. also supplies a large, uneven percentage of the operating budget of the United Nations.

Two, there are too many countries on this planet that hold their hands out to recieve our money, food, and medical supplies, but then want to talk badly about us in open forums and speak about how evil we are.

Three, we need to take care of our own people first. If the governament cut foreign aid even by half and used that money on infrastructure and homeland security, this country would be in a much better state than it is now.

Ppl give aid because they want too. The government give aid so that the 3rd world can pay back the loans they took off the 1st world to buy goods from the 1st world. Mind these goods came from the 3rd world in the first place. Reducing aid will not help protect these countries, the money saved will only be wasted elsewhere.

Well, I see no sense in us bombing them & then sending money to them after the fsct! I mean, we spend loads of money to tear the place up& then send them $ to re-build, makes NO sense, I say we have our hands full taking care of our own! I know people right now that have NOTHING, you don't see or government trying to help them!,I don't know, this is really a touchy subject with me so I had better stop!

False dichotomy

sending aid to countries encourages them (their governments) to be friendly towards us.

yes, we do need to spend more money on the troops abroad.. perhaps we should cut down on the amount we give benefit scroungers to raise the cash ??

well i think of it like this, rather than throwing away old clothes and shoes etc, there's no harm sending them to 3rd world countries, would the british troop really want old clothes.

NO! We have managed to isolate ourselves supremely well; losing friends and potential allies along the way.
In a global community, it is in our own best economic and political interests to strengthen 3th world countries and ameliorate the poverty to stabilize world politics and eliminate the seeding grounds of future opposition and insurgencies.

Those countries that receive aid and then insult and condemn us for being Christians and infidels should be left to fend for themselves, help the poor in your own country first.

I know we should be funding the programs that we have , and used to have for the people in our own Country first. It seems that the administration doesn't care about its own people. It's a sad situation today. Good Luck ! :)
