Have they peaked in popularity?

More young people seem to be getting small ones. I think they are ok in discrete areas. Big ones are ok on younger people but people should think (especially women) how they are going to look to people as they get older. They are not cool as they don't enhance the look of a body and could count against someone when their appearance counts if eg they are going for a job or into a certain profession. They also suit a younger person but not that person when they get older. I hate them.

It is hard to judge tattoos. Some are cool, some crass. Small ones in discrete locations on the body are cool, but all-over are definitely crass. Also, I've seen people who had cool ones when they were young, but after AGING some, they look more and more crass. Just hard to judge. Just stop and think--"How will this look on me when I am over 50?"

The older I get, the more I dislike them. I think because today absolutely everyone has them and it's just not cool or individual any longer. I think they would have looked damn cool on an invading Celtic army but not much these days. I'd say crass.

Crass, because you cannot get them off without a lot of work, can u imagine a skinny 90 year old man with tatoo on his boney stick arm????? And just remember, fair or unfair, law enforcement see some of them as gang-related, so if you mistakenly have a tatoo related to some gang insignia, you may have prejudiced law enforcement when you haven't even done anything wrong

I think its what the tatoo means to you. A tatto may look crass but it might have a secret meaning. Unless your an 109-year-old whos laying on the beach with flames coming out .... yeah, ick

Personally I love tattoos...I have six of them, but they aren't all out in the open where everyone can see them. I think they have come extremely popular. It used to be that only the "bikers" or the "gangsters" had the tatts. Nowadays, us homemakers even have them...=) If you do get a tattoo, just make sure that you go to a reputable tattoo artist.

Crass in my opinion. I think some of them are even dirty and ugly.
Sorry if I insult you or anyone. But I think it is a way to get attention from others.I don't like it at all.

I have been getting tattooed for 12 years and intend to carry on. Both arms are sleeved, back is progressing. - Being tattooed is not a fashion statement. People who have tattoos as a fashion statement are pretty ******* stupid, as what is fashionable tends to go out of fashion and there you are stuck with that crappy little piece of trible on your arm, or if a girl, on the base of your back, which looks embarrasing!! - I refer to them as 'sh1t smears'.....And any 'estate' mum that has their son/daughters name tattooed on them, under a rose, or anyone that has a name done in general, bad news!!! - A Tattoo is art, nothing else, keep it that way.

I think they can be v sexy on women but they need to be small and not always on view. They are definitely crass when you can't see the skin for ink!! That is just plain horrid.
