I kind of feel like I shouldn't. I've never even been to a school dance, and I've never had a boyfriend. I don't have anyone to go with, and there's no way I can afford any prom dress that won't get me laughed everytime someone looks back in the year book.
What's your opinion?

In my opinion, prom is highly overrated. I didn't go when I was in high school, but I went when I was a freshman in college as a favor to a friend. It was just another dance, and it was actually pretty boring.
Don't get me wrong, prom could be fun. There are ways you could go and have a good time. Lots of girls without boyfriends go together in a big group. If you can't afford a dress, there are sometimes ways to get them. I know my local radio station gets gently used prom dresses donated that girls can have for free.

I think you should go, because you might regret not going. But if you search your heart and really know you won't regret it, then don't go. If you do, go with other friends who don't have dates and just have a lot of fun and dance and enjoy your last days of high school.
As for dresses, there are many places that give away or sell used dresses for little money. I live in Chicago, and there is a place here that donates dresses to young ladies. Or check out department stores--I got a pretty, simple dress for $79 at Marshall Fields for a dance.
If you don't go, throw a little party for you and your friends and just dress up, dance, watch movies and have fun together. That is what being a teenager is all about!
PS. Don't feel bad about yourself for never having a boyfriend. I didn't meet my guy until I was in college, and I'm glad I did!

I didn't go, and I wish I had. You can find a cute dress that is very cheap, you just need to be patient and look through a lot of them. Maybe you can go with a few friends or something. But if you can't find anyone to go with and you think you'll be uncomfortable going by yourself, then you probably shouldn't go or else you won't have fun.

If you want to, go with a group.
Find a prom dress or evening gown at the second hand or thrift shops in your area. For a couple bucks you can own something fantastic.'

If you don't want to go, then don't. Personally, I thought Prom was boring. It's like any other school dance, just in formal wear. I didn't think it was a big deal. Some people do, though. But, don't go just to fit in or whatever.

We all have different attitudes, different likes, and dislikes. We must relax, do that which we really want to do, and ignore the rest. Can't do it ALL!!!
Anyway, there is more tan enough stuff to keep us occupied, without wasting money on strange clothing that we will never wear again... Such vanity is totally stupid!

i think you should go you don't have to buy a expensive dress i went to marshalls and bought this beautiful dress for 29.99 dollars and it doesn't matter if you don't have a boyfriend just go and have fun with your friends don't listen to what others say sometimes they are just hating on you!!!!!!!!
