I would like to know something about colleges. Please help me out

If i apply to Stanford, MIT, UC Berkely, will they look at which High School I come from?

Will it affect my chances to get into these colleges because of my high school's academic popularity?

NOTE: Assume i have good grades, great SAT marks, Challenging courses, etc.

PS: Also kindly tell me which colleges you came from too (optional)

You sound like you are really wanting to go to college, and don't be afraid to apply to more than one. You can apply at all three. They look at your GPA from high school, your SAT or ACT scores, level of education (honors core vs. regular core). They do not necessarily look at which high school you came from and compare it nationally to other school systems. If you have good grades, they will accept you, since the colleges have a minimal acceptance level for GPA.
They will not look at income, for they know you can get student loans for school, with the assistance from parents if you are under the age of 24-25, or have a release of financial responsibility from your parents, you can get financial aid on your own.
You can contact admissions for each school and ask to speak to an admissions counselor, who can further assist you.

The better your school grades and involvement, along with SAT scores, the better your chances of being accepted. Of course, a great high school doesn't hurt. However, I'm sure that isn't the only criteria they look for...

Yes, they will look at the HS you come from. If it is on your application, which it will be, they will look at it.

The quality of your HS education will effect your admission chances. Schools also go for geographic diversity, so if you live in a state with few applicants, you may have a better chance than average.

A good read, if you really want to understand the process http://www.the-gatekeepers.com/asp/excerpts.asp , but you may want to spend your time studying and participating in extra curriculars instead of reading this.

They don't care about your high school, just your scores. They want your money if ya wanna know the truth. They give you a chance to make something of yourself before you pay them back or you can throw it all away and quit/party and then pay it all back. You can do anything you want to do, believe in yourself.

Well, they will judge you within the context of your high school's profile. And you might have a harder time getting into Berkley because it is a state school, if you aren't from California.
