I like creative girls better, the ones interested in art and writing are better at holding an interesting conversation, as opposed to preppy cheerleaders.

A girl interested in art and writing sounds very interesting: original ideas, interesting conversations, someone smart, who is fun to be around.
But that's no guarantee that I would really connect with that kind of person, even if in theory I'd prefer that. It could happen that I might have more in common with a cheerleader.
Personality is more important then the areas of interest.
