My friend uses SpotShot for his light carpets. My boyfriend spilled red wine on our friend's carpet and this stuff took it out right away. It's an aerosol foam and it works really well.

use shaving cream the white foam kind rub it in the stain really good the vacuum when dry
My Husband works for railroad and tracks in grease and it has always worked

SPOT SHOT is the best thing you can use to clean carpet.

add dish detergent to a wet dish towel, and scrub and then 'rinse' as in scrub with a just wet dish towel. Use two different dish towels so that it doesn't transfer.
