I don't know why people believe in it...maybe cause they want to or that's they theory they were taught. I personally think it's a joke.

that girl was clearly a member of the genus australopithecus, i.e. an early hominide. where on earth do you and your kind get your information about hard scientific facts? i suggest you read an actual book on evolutionary biology for a change (allow me to recommend the works of richard dawkins), and use some reliable news source as opposed to the treatises passed out by street preachers. creationism is the result of ignorance and poor imagination - "i can't imagine how a fish could eventually, over millions of years, beget a human being, ergo a transcendental power must have created them from scratch and put them here." what a sad waste of brainpower. y'know, not so long ago, before bacteria had been discovered, people thought diseases were caused by evil spirits/ demons/ the devil and subjected the patients to exorcisms instead of giving them medication. needless to say, most of these people died. now, what would you prefer, the exorcism, informed by the belief in a transcendental power, or an antibiotic, informed by hard science? unless you're a total nut (which i doubt), you'd of course prefer the antibiotic. now take the one, decisive step further - if disease is not caused by evil spirits but by disruptions to your body's biochemistry and can be cured not by religious ceremonies but by medication, isn't it logical then that the world wasn't created by a transcendental power in six days but by molecular processes that we call evolution over millions of years? we blame on god the things we don't understand. read a good book on evolution, open your mind, and you'll see why people believe in it, and not in creationism.

Evolution is scientific fact.
One fossil does not prove or disprove anything. The entire body of scientific knowledge supports evolution.

Hmm. How do you define "monkey face?" It was an early ancestor of humans.
