Does this woman have no life because she is single, because she is 47, or because she has no children? If she is a workaholic, she sounds like she is pretty busy, so I don't understand the lack of a life. She may actually be pretty happy the way she is. Most married women with children and no jobs are the ones with no life.

Just becuase a person doesn't have children, does not mean they are a workaholic. I don't get what you mean by no life though, does she not even go to movies or socialize with friends. Take time out to watch a movie at home, or curl up with a nice book? If not, then maybe they are working too much. But who am I to judge.

No, i dont think so. i believe the problem is more emotional than career building. Being a 'workaholic' is just a way of being occupied and hiding the feeling of loneliness which may set in when idle.
The solution lies within you - why do you run away from dates? there obviosly is a man out there waiting to be loved by you and in return love you. You cannot get if you don't give. If a previous relationship had been sour, put it behind you and trudge on. Best of luck and God's guidance

Having children does not guarantee you have a life either. Other than maid, cook and warden. Maybe the 47 year old loves her job and has a great social life? Doesn't need to be tied down to one guy? Maybe she couldn't (physcially) have children?
Why do you assume she has no life? Because it's not the life you would choose?

she has a life. just because she has no children and is single doesn't mean she has no life. Someone whose married with children might not have a life.
a single woman of 47 has friends to go do activities with.
