NO NO NO.The digestive system for babies is not ready for food. You should consult your pediatrician before starting your baby on any solids. And I'm sure when they tell you it's OK you will start you baby on cereal made for their digestive system. Also only give you baby one thing at a time, to see if they have any allergic reactions. It has also been proved some babies given food to early develop allergies. Here is a goos site to check www.drpaul.com/nutrition/solids.html

Speak it through with your health visitor but i wud say that is far too early. I have a 1 yr old and he breastfed solely til he was 6 months. The reason is beacuse they cant digest it and it can lead to health problems later on in life like diabetes and irritable bowel syndrome

Doctors will probably tell you to wait until 4-6 months to start solid food, but I started my daughter on thin cereal and bananas, etc., at 3 months and had no problems. She just seemed hungry, so I tried it, and it worked.

absolutely. Also the rice cereals are very good and can be mixed with breast milk. I made all my baby's food in blender. You can freeze small amts. in an icecube tray. Pop out and heat. Can help in all noc sleeping. Always go by your MD's recommendation, tho. Have fun....

Sounds just like mine! However, I didn't start with banana or apple sauce as I felt that it might upset his stomach. I started with very thin baby rice so that it was like a thick liquid. I gave it to him in the early evening and I like to believe it helped him sleep through the night.

my sister fed her boys adult food like 2 weeks after birth so i dont think baby food will hurt any. you can also try baby ceral in the bottle or by spoon. if you put it in the bottle its suppossed to thicken it so that the baby doesnt get hungry as often, but spoon feeding does the same thing so its up to you

No. He's too little to digest that. If he's not getting full on your breastmilk he should have formula. He needs calories and fat at this age which you don't give him in banana and applesauce. Consult your pediatrician.

That does seem a bit young.
I waited until 6 months with both of mine.

I think 2.5 months is young for baby food. Call your pediatrician.
