Well I have Sims2 on computer and I've played it on Game Cube a few times and I don't really know if it would be appropriate. You can make people have sex and have kids so if you want your 9 year old to do that then it would be fine. That's like the worst thing in the game. But it teaches kids about money and needing jobs and stuff if they don't know all the cheats.

its real fun and theres not so much a 9 year old should see. I mean, when the ppl there have sex, they do it under the blanket, and also, its called wohoo, which sounds... well, i dunno. But most of the things in there are suitable for a nine year old daughter. Me, I'm 13, my lil bro who is 11, and my mom (no comment on age) all play the game and its really fun. My lil bro's frends r sometimes 9 yrs old, nd they play it.
In some countries, it's for any age. In Australia, and maybe some other countries, its like 15 +, which really doesnt make sense to me. Check what it is wherever you live, but it is still your desision. If you want her to play it, let her. And if she says that all her friends play it, trust me, its a good idea to let her, unless you have good facts against it. Like my parents wont let me get my ears pierced, and ppl make fun of me. You dont want your daughter to be made fun of, just because she isnt allowed to play a game. It may sound weird, but welcome to the life of the kids and teenies of this world.
We can't decide if you let her or not. We really can't. it is your decision. But choose what IS best for your daughter, not just what YOU think is. Imagine ebing a 9 year old girl, feeling left out. Trust me, if you don't allow her, she won't be too happy with you. But don't worry, it won't last long.
At the same time, don't let her win too easy - she'll feel like she can get everything she wants. Say no, then start to go over to yes. In the end, tell her something like clean your room and i'll let you play or something like that - itll just help.
Wow... this is long... oh well. I just gave you all the ideas that popped into my head. Good luck!

Im 13 and my 9 year old cousin plays it as the other people have said they censor alot of things out the best way to decide is to talk to some adults that have played it or have one of her friends parents tell you about the game the decision is yours to make but the game is so fun it taught me to go to work and stuff but i knew the cheats too

Only you can decide if it is alright for her to have the game. When the Sims do their business and shower and what not, it is censcored so you don't have to worry about your daughter seeing anything you don't want her to see. You might want to try out the game yourself before buying it for her. That way you can decide if YOU feel that it is alright for her to play it.

Watch her when she plays it. It's not that bad of a game. I have it for the GC and computer it's fun. But not as graphical on the GC than computer.
