It's an old wives tale & inaccurate most of the time. It does however prove to be true occasionally...it did with a friend of mine. Her & her husband wanted a girl & her mom did that test with the wedding ring & it said she was having a boy.......sure enough, ultrasound time came & she was indeed having a boy! Ultrasounds on the other hand aren't always accurate either. When my friend Jamie was to be born, the doctor told her parents that he was 99% sure that they were having a boy....they went on picking out the name James & when the time came....out comes a JAMIE...not a James! LOL!

It's an old wives tale. Sometimes it is right, sometimes it's not. With my first child everyone told me (even using this test) that I was having a boy. Surprise! It was a girl. So don't take everything people tell you as true, and sometimes not even the doctor's ultrasound. Just be happy that you are blessed with a wonderful child no matter what its sex. However, I did find the old wives tales amusing to listen to though.

Not very as what I heard is just the opposite if the ring circles its a boy and sideways is a girl I think it is an old wive's tail. If you want to know the sex of your baby, you can ask your doctor when you have an ultra sound. They can tell these days.

You could also hold it over your belly and it is able to to tell you if your having a boy or girl! There is also the sewing needle still on the tread trick. The thread shouldn't be to short or to long and you dangle the needle on the side of your hand and rub the side about 7 times and then with a steady hand hold it over your palm and it will either go in a circle or back ad forth! Circle is a girl and back and forth is a boy!! Good Luck!

Anything that is an old wives tale i think is not accurate. Only an ultrasound can really be the one to prove what your having.
But hey....if your bored take this test and find what your having. Its fun

the direction it goes has alot to do with the energy your body is sending out. but if you think hard enough, you can change the directions a pendulum swings. so if you want a girl, and you're sending out energy telling it to go in a circle, it will. give it a try and you should be able to change the directions by willing it. so, it is more of a predictor of you desires than a predictor of the sex of your baby.

It is an Old Wives Tale...not accurate!
The only ways to tell the sex of your baby are Ultrasound(not 100%) and Amniocentesis!

it's an old wives tale. nothing can tell you the gender of your child except for a sonogram. and even then they aren't always accurate.
