I know a woman who actually had it and went into a coma as a result. You've got nothing to worry about if you follow the instructions of your tampon manufacturer.

toxic shock syndrome comes from using tampons the greater the size as in reg,med,super,super tends to carry a higher risk of tss so be careful even though i use tampons myself its very rare to get

TSS can occur in men , women, and children...but about half of the cases occur in women who r menstrating....usually associated with using tampons....this is a rare but serious illness....so if u have it go see a doctor....2 lern more about this go 2 www.beinggirl.com

because of out of control bacterial growth, due to a tampon being left in the vagina too long (usually), the bacteria invades the body in general via the bloodstream, creating the toxins of infection. Has happened so rapidly and overwhelmingly that it has killed young women in their prime.

when you body drops in temperature, and goes numb where you cant feel anything....it can be caused by using a tampon when your not on your period or using it and not changing it for a long long time
