there is a very small chance that you can get pregnant when on the shot. the shot (depo provera) can cause your body to do insane things though. like bleeding ALOT or completely stopping your periods for months.

honestly, id be more concerned about STDs if you do not use protection. there are much scarier things out there than thinking you're pregnant.

if you are that concerned, go to the doctor and explain what is going on.

You could be pregnant. Most likely not. Take a test if it comes out neg. you should be ok. However, being on the depo shot causes a slightly higher risk of ectopic pregnancy and this is a concern. Sometimes ectopic pregnancies don't read on HPT(home preg. test) so if you begin to feel severe pains in your pelvis(kind of like menstrual cramps, but a lot worse), run a fever, begin bleeding very heavily, etc. you could be in trouble. Remember though that the chances of being pregnant are slim to none. So I wouldn't fret over it.
It could also be a reaction to the shot. You may not be one of the lucky ones that has no period while on it. I bled the whole time I was on the shot(6 months). Also, you could have some breakthrough bleeding(spotting) when you start any new birth control option. It's completely normal.
Just be careful and to be safe use a backup method of contraception.

I would say the odds are that you are not pregnant. If you have only been on the shot for a month the bleeding can just be a result of your body adjusting. I was on the shot for two yrs, with no period. I found out I was three months pregnant after three doctors visits to see why I was sick all the time. Finally I took a test and it was positive. It is so rare that my OB still calls me the girl who got pregnant on depo.

It is possible that you could be pregnant even thow you are on the shot. They aren't 100% effective and sometimes it can happen. I wouldn't worry until you have gone to the doctor and taken a preganancy test to be sure. Most likely you won't be pregnant, but if you suspect that you are I would go out and take the test. Good Luck!

Go to the store. Buy a pregnancy test. Pee on it. If it is positive, make a doctor appointment to confirm. If it is negative, then no baby.
