No, no, no. Don't worry, seriously. Please trust your doctor. He probably didn't realize you'd be so freaked out when he couldn't find a heartbeat. At your point, it's just a fun "hey, let's see if we can hear anything yet!" kind of exam. The doctor isn't worried because he knows your baby is about the size of a peanut and it's hard to get the monitor in the right place right now to hear a heartbeat. However, if you don't feel better, maybe you could call your doctor's office and see if you can go in earlier to be checked again. Tell them how stressed you are. A friend of mine was freaked out for the same reason and her doctor arranged for her to have an ultrasound, so she could actually see that the baby was alive and moving with a strong heartbeat. I don't know if everyone's doctor would be that accommodating, though.

Don't worry! I am at 15 weeks right now and i didn't even know that I was pregnant until I was eight weeks. I never got morning sickness. Also the doctors normaly don't even hear a heart tone on a doppler until at least 12 weeks and sometimes it can be as late as 16 weeks. The baby likes to hide. It is nothing to worry about most women don't ever hear it until after 12 weeks.

Your doctor should have done an ultrasound right away. We had this happen to us. My wife & I lost a baby at 7 weeks. At 10 weeks it may be hard to detect a heartbeat through doppler. Things might be ok , but be prepared for the worse when you have the ultrasound. The good news is that if the worse happens, you can try again. My wife is 19 weeks Pregnant after losing our 1st.

Everyone is different, and I don't think you should worry too much "yet". At 10 weeks, it's still very small and hard to find. I didnt "feel" pregnant until 6 months, and I didnt feel the baby move until 5 months, yet my friend felt her baby move 5 weeks before me. I worried, but I didnt have to becuase all was fine. So try not to stress, that'll just add more to the worries of pregnancy, and hopefully in 2 weeks they hear the heartbeat. Congratulations on the pregnancy and good luck.

If the doctor were worried, he would have scheduled tests. It's just too early to always hear, that's all. Remember how tiny your baby is right now. Relax, take care of yourself, continue with your vitamins, don't overdo. If the stress is too much, call the doctor, and make an appointment, and talk this out. Better to do that than to worry yourself into anxiety attacks, and perhaps do more harm. Good luck to you.

I just want to say to this idiot >>> sapphaire610 <<< Who makes you supreme being of a diagnosis over the NET of all places?! You're ignorant, and you definitely know how to put fear into someone with an invalid answer to a valid question. Go sit in a corner and don't get out until hell freezes over...
As for an answer to this question... It isn't always that we can depend on technology to give us the answers we need or want. Machines aren't perfect either. If I were you, I'd wait a few more weeks before any real concern. Give the embryo time to develop still, before you think there is any real concern for worry.

fetal heart monitors often won't pick up a heart beat until 12 weeks, my doctor wouldn't even try until then. The ultrasound was how they checked on my pregnancy @ 8weeks because I was having bleeding. If you're doc says don't worry, then don't, he/she has access to more info, like your hormone levels. Stress is likely to do more harm than anything. My doc told me I would probably lose this baby, but I'm at my 31st week now and expecting a very healthy baby girl shortly! Good Luck. you have plenty of time to officially "feel" pregnant. No worries!

I wouldnt be to worried until the next appt. I'm a mother of 2 and my sons heartbeat couldnt actually be heard until about 13 weeks. Its normal. If they cant find at your 12 week mark and do a ultrasound they will be able to tell from there if the baby is ok or if you misscarried.Yes you can misscarry without bleeding.Personal exsperince here.

I wouldn't worry about too much yet. It can be hard for the dr to find the heartbeat when you are so early in pregnancy. I had this same thing happened and everything turned out fine. The internal ultrasound is much more accurate.
Good luck, I hope everything turns out ok.

Don't worry just yet, in many women the heartbeat is not readily identifiable until 12 weeks. But work it into the equation that half of all conceptuses are lost in the first trimester, many before a woman is aware of the pregnancy. If you were able to conceive, you will be able to do it again.

I know that is hard to hear, but I went through that twice before I got my lovely girl, who is now eight and quite the tomboy.
