I wear brand named clothing, but they are cheap at the same time. I think the fabric in which the brand named clothing is made is much better, meaning its less likely to brake and will last longer, Also, when people are rich(im not rich) they want to flaunt the fact that they have money and wear expensive brand name clothing, so if a girl wears brand name clothing, people would assume she is rich, so even those without money try to get brand name clothing.

Nine times out of ten branded clothes are more durable than cheap ones. The fit is better and so is the look. Better to have five branded pieces than 10 cheap ones.

Wearing branded clothes proves something about yourself. Mostly it proves that you are up on the latest fashions and, therefore, cool. Second, it proves that you have a great deal of money and, therefore, higher status. People like to be members of the crowd, especially the fashion-conscious, cool, rich crowd. Wearing non-branded clothes makes you stand out as uncool and poor.

I have everything in my closet from expensive name brands to clothing and shoes I have bought at Payless or WalMart. I do have more name brand items, but I think it is because I like the style of the clothing. I would love to be able to buy all my clothes for cheap at WalMart, but I don't really like a lot of their styles. If WalMart or Target had some of the same styles that say Lucky, Express, or Seven did, I would totally buy the cheaper clothing. Same thing goes for my son...he is 3 and, of course, I buy his clothes. I can find some things for him at WalMart or Target, but again, they don't have a lot of cute clothing, especially for little boys...so, most of clothes come from Gap Kids or Old Navy...and again, I would buy all his clothes at Target or WalMart if they had more of a selection or cuter clothes for little boys. Toddlers grow out of clothing so fast, I hate paying $30 for a pair of Gap Kids jeans that he is only going to wear for about 3 months, but I am not buying him a pair of Wranglers from WalMart that are tapered leg and just plain hideous. I feel that if I can spend the extra money on clothes for me to look cute, then I can do the same for my child. Hope this helps :-)

there are tons of reasons people wear branded clothes- sometimes its status- most revolve around insecurity-- branded clothese are convenient for gift giving- someone can simply know what store a person likes and have a pretty good idea of something to get them

i pretty much buy whatever i like. it can be branded stuff or cheap ones.whatever looks cute on me. but i know of people in my class who just wear branded stuff. they like to show off how much money they have. i know like they could be more shallow. i think its quite sad when u get defined by what u wear nd not who u r.

I dont know why people are so obsessed with brand names, the items probably are all made in the same child slavery warehouses - the people making the clothes getting 5 cents a day. "Go Ralph Lauren." <-- sarcasim

A deal is a deal. I shop named brand and cheap stuff. Whatever ends up looking good. Honestly, how many people check your tags?
