Shipping is usually free unless you want expedited shipping and tax depends on your state. If you want upgrades you will have to pay more.

I recommend increasing your RAM to at least 1GB. It may be cheaper to buy the RAM on ebay and install it yourself though, just make sure you get the right type. If your not comfortable with it just pay the $50 and buy it from Dell.

Remember this price does not include MS office or a monitor. You can use Works or Open Office, from Mozilla, which is free, for just about anything you need.

I have two Dells (notebook and desktop) and I normally get good support. The speakers on the notebook went bad, they failed to fix and then sent me a new laptop, different model because I asked for something different, because the new model was less expensive they gave me a DVD-RW, extra RAM and an extra battery to make up the difference.

If you want to rebuild your computer you do not want a Dell, because the motherboard is most likely unreplaceable. You can upgrade with RAM, which is all you should need for it to last 5ish years if you are not doing anything fancy. I have had mine for 4 and it is still running strong, just added a bit of RAM, VERY easy.
My Dell monitors are fabulous.

Dell Stinks. Don't buy Dell it's nothing more then cheap China Crap. If You Want A Great Computer Then BUY Fujitsu. It will be running when you need it! Unlike a Dell...

Tisk tisk tisk. This computer is NO GOOD. you'd be better off buying on with the new Intel Core 2 Duo processor! It's way faster and cheaper than AMD Anthlon FX procs. Like the C2D E6600!

Plus shipping and tax, if applicable, and if you don't modify its configuration, yes, that will be the final price.
