if I can't get a new car that I have been drooling over then she can't a baby, that is fair isn't it?

Thanks for the idea! No car - no baby! Next it will be:
1) no new clothes = no sex
2) no jewelry = no bj
3) no help with housework = no dinner
(And before anyone jumps to a conclusion, this is a joke!)
My guy and I have a very loving and giving relationship because we have open communication. If we have a different viewpoint on something we talk about it. Neither one of us would deny the other something that they really wanted.

Grow up. What's more important? A car, or a baby?

Besides, the baby isn't a "toy" like a car is. And the baby isn't just for her. It's for you too. Once you have a baby (if you're any sort of decent guy), you'll wonder after your baby is born how you could have ever thought a car was more important.

And maybe sometime in the future you CAN get your new car.

But right now? You sound like a whiny child.

Maybe she'll have a baby with someone a little more grown up.

She should be happy not to have a baby with you! what an asshole....if my boyfriend EVER told me that I had to choose between a new car for him (because he's drooling over it) or a baby (or anything else), I would slap him across the face....relationships are about compromising...not being selfish. you, sir, are a very selfish person, and need to grow up! this is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard!

Sounds fair to me if its one or the other because babies cost alot of money and I am sure you could pay off a car before 18 yrs but a baby will need constant support until at least 18 yrs of age.Is there a way you two could compromise.

what the heck? what side of the universe did you come from? that is not fair at all. besides, if you think that the value of a car is equal to that of a baby, then you don't deserve her and it would be better for her if you left her. then she can go get someone worth her time.

I hate to be the one to tell you this but trying to make a deal like that could end up with you not being able to have kids! I think you had better re think your ideas of what being married and having a family is all about....on word that comes to mind is sacrifice. By that I mean that sometimes you cant have what you want when you want it for the better of "YOUR family"
Now go tell her your sorry for being so self centered and hope she forgives you.

My husband just bought me a new car and we're trying to have a baby. There was no deal. It's just life. Don't hold stuff over her head.

I guess you'll have to do without a lot of other things too, to make up for her not having a baby with you....
