Toyota has made some great improvements in the last ten or so years, but Honda does have a longer track record for maintaining a higher re-sale value. I had a used 1977 Honda Accord back in the early 90's that had 91,000 miles on it. I drove it for 6 months on two cylinders and used it for a trade in. It just wouldn't die. Parts tend to be higher for Honda then Toyota's.

Being a Buy American first person I would say neither of those silly imports. I got a Ford Fusion last spring, a 4 cyl. and it is the best car I have ever personally had for my own and I am 59. I get almost 30 mpg, it has pep, it looks really nice and my hubby who is 6'5" can ride comfortably even in the back seat. AND, in my opinion ANY car will last a long time with proper maintenance and driving. We also have a 1998 Expedition and while because of it's size it is not the best on gas (we got it to pull boats, etc.), it still looks brand new and we have never had a lick of trouble with it.

We also have two Mustangs, a 2004 convertible and a 2005 GT and these, as well, are wonderful vehicles.

Personally I own a Toyota right now, and owned a Honda the car before and I would definately buy another Honda. I wouldn't necessarily buy another Toyota unless it was a good deal. Not saying Toyota's are bad, I just loved the Honda and how tuff it was. I parked the Honda at 225K miles and a year later gave it away to a family member and he is still driving it around a year later with minimal work done to it.

stick with the toyota. It has a good reputation for being reliable. Also the customer satisfaction rating is what counts. Toyota is focused on just the automobile industry, whereas honda is split between many. Honda lawnmowers, tools, walking and jogging robots...

Mary C,
I have personally owned three Toyota's and my brother-in-law has owned three Honda's. Neither of us have had a problem with either car. I would say that its a personal choice between the two. They are both great car makers.

That's more a personal choice. My personal opinion is Honda. Some people prefer a
Mercedes & I prefer my Volvo.
