I am pretty sure its 150 steps to the top of the hill. I live in Athens and I have only been there once! (on a school trip years ago!!) but it is difficult and definatly not something to try in the summer!!!

I really have not counted them, but the fact is that the higher you go, the harder the steps are, because at the bottom the steps are new and have the normal height, while as you go up, you use the ancient steps, who were very steep and high.
You can stop and catch your breath if you want to climb up there but the view is really rewarding...

It is not all that easy--just stepping up, step by step. You physically have to find places to hold on to, find the next best foothold, and it takes quite awhile. There are those coming down as you go up, too. Pushing past, stepping aside, etc.,. The steps are irregular in shape and size. Sometimes they are not very flat, and you have to watch where you put your foot. But, it is fun. And the view from on top----fabulous.
