Are these Literary names(e.g - latin,French,English etc) or coined by scientists ?

Europe is the name of a lady chased by the greek god Zeus.
It was chosen later by scientist for the whole continent.
So it is a greek name (like a lot of latin name comes in fact from greek).
Australia comes from austral that mean the southern part and is also greek ethymology. The word comes from english which comes from french which comes from latin which originated from greek but u can go further...
Antarctica mean the opposite of arctica "ante" and is greek-latin origin.
